I am sure you’ve heard the phrase ‘I Am that I Am’. What does that even mean? And what does it mean from a trauma perspective?

Essentially, it means ‘I will become what I choose to become’. However, let’s look at that statement if you’ve suffered from trauma. If you struggle with PTSD or C-PTSD, sexual abuse or abandonment and neglect for instance, how is this phrase useful to you?  How does that help you if you are experiencing anxiety, depression, health issues, addictions, or financial troubles?

In clinical trauma hypnotherapy, the ‘I Am that I Am’ concept is not one that needs to be explored. It’s not necessary to clear Complex Trauma and PTSD. However, if you have a background of trauma and don’t have a firm identity of who you really are, I pose the question. Can you ever fully heal in this game called life?

After the 3-4 session hypnotherapy process that is offered in Thornlands, Brisbane, I have observed a spectrum of post-client wellness. For most, the TRTP process boasts excellent outcomes with a clinically audited 92% success rate, however, for a moment, let’s focus on the 8% who don’t get the results they had hoped for. There are a few reasons for this group which can include, but are not limited to, how safe one feels in their living environment, and in a very general sense, whether one is ready and capable of moving towards their full potential.

So, how do trauma clients achieve internal peace coupled with a sense of belonging and a strong healthy fortitude within themselves?  In a nutshell, it’s their subconscious beliefs. Beliefs such as, but not limited to: What do you think you deserve and who do you think you are?

It is beneficial to surrender to the power and process of trauma and how it can force the mind to upgrade its limited belief programming. With the appropriate help, trauma can be quite a blessing and awakening.

Fortunately, most clients reach a full recovery from anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders in 3-4 sessions. This is because The Richards Trauma Process ™ looks deeply at the subconscious beliefs you have about yourself.  When these new beliefs are penetrated in cellular memory and new neurological circuitry,  thriving is a natural byproduct.

In your quiet time, knowing who you are, or where you came from, or what you are here to do, can really make all the difference. Untethering old subconscious programming of what you believe about yourself can be the tipping point into true liberation.  For me personally – I choose to remember that I am an instrument of my soul, and that I am here to surrender and facilitate in my soul’s evolution.

After doing the trauma work, some clients immerse themselves in their careers, and the gifts that they bestow upon their community. Others are now-healthy mothers and fathers who dedicate their life to their children, choosing to stop the toxic patterns that families can stay in for generations. Mostly, clients go on with their day-to-day life with a sense of calm-knowing, a clear mind and healthy appetite to enjoy the rest of their lives with thoughts that do not plague them, a body that provides them rest, with a solid sense of identity.

If you are not where you’d like to be right now – It might be worth asking? Who do you choose to be?

The answer is as simple as it needs to be. There is no right or wrong. There is only awareness, and it might just be the pocket of gold that your conscious-mind can benefit from knowing, to ascend you to even greater heights in post-trauma recovery. Whatever your answer is, relating well, communicating openly, connecting to others, and loving oneself can soar to new levels in this gift of a journey called life. And that, is successful post-trauma recovery.
